Do you speak wine?


• Teaching media:
Learning-brochure, impulse- and instructional film, brochure on wine
and its cultural aspects, e-mails, podcasts, interactive homepage


• Didactic principle:
Modular learning-units, integrating language-learning into everyday-life,
adapting media and learning-phases to the target group (e.g. time of the year)


• LSP-context:
Winegrowers learn the words and structures they need for their work and their
marketing, and for communicating with customers and other winegrowers.


• Areas covered:
Vineyard, wine-growing region; Wine production, work in the cave;
Wine-tasting, marketing; Enjoying wine, wine culture, history, wine and food


• Specific situations and types of texts:
Winetasting, sale and marketing, wine presentation, wine fair, description of
wines, wine label, description of the area, presentation of the own vineyard


• Terminology data base:
Collection of wine terms (winegrowing, winemaking, wine tasting….)


• Winegrowing regions:
South Tirol (Laimburg), Lower Austria (Krems), Tuscany (Siena), Burgundy
(Dijon, Beaune), Castile and León (Valladolid, Toro)
